Just wondering

Featured Replies

I've experienced OSBot taking 1 day + to update, but I was just wondering why competitors can have their bots up and running within a minute of a RS update but we have to wait for a developer? I mean if a developer can update the bot as soon as they're on, why can't they teach an active trusted person how to do it? Also, what happened to the other developers? It seems like @Laz has been taking one for the team for the past month.

Yes I saw the one minute update post too.

It's frustrating.

But...

It's mainly because of a timezone difference, most OSBot developers are from America whereas the competitor's one is from Europe, which gives that person in question an important time advantage because RS updates (99% of the time) happen during European day-time. Our developers need their sleep to :p

Concerning the inactivity of certain developers, nothing new there :p

I was wondering the same.. Osbot is outdated at least 1 day a week (every thursday) which is 50+ days a year (equal to like 2 months). I feel like there are so many good developers around, can't they help to get the bot updated/fixed?

Great statement/Question ^

Allowing a third party to update the bot after a game update would require the devs to give that person access to the bot's source code, which is risky for both you and them.

But it's either that, get Maxi back involved (he's from Europe if I'm not mistaken, or write an auto-updater.

Concerning downtime however.

It's not 1/7 (14%) but more like 8/168 (5%) downtime each week (caused by rs updates that is), sometimes 0% when the update didn't break the bot.

im from europe give it 2 mäh
