Monkey Madness gives 20k. Make sure you find what option gives the 20k def exp instead of 35k def exp. 

Total will be 39,750. 40 defence is 37224

I have a maxed zerk, (99 attack/str/ 45 defence. It's good for pking, but I believe most people pk around the stats of 60-70 attack, 99 str as a zerk. Make sure you can fund for 94 mage + are ready for questing if you're wanting to make to change and go rune/berserker pure.

Goodluck. I'd stay 1 defence for a while until you have everything down (Quest req's, Decent stats, Gp)

Mage/Range i'd get out of the way. They are the most expensive and they'll help in the long run.
