Getting new laptop

Im starting college in less than 2 weeks. When I get there I get to pick up this bad boy:

 

 

Lenovo ThinkPad W540

 

Intel Core i7 4700QM,

15.6" FHD 1920X1080 display,

8 GB DDR3 on 1 DIMM,

nVidia Quadro K1100 2GB RAM Graphics Card,

500 GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive

 

Thoughts?

Get a SSD

I was either going to get a lenovo thinkpad or alienware, I chose alienware because the lights are nicer.

Its not for gaming. Its for schoolwork and everyday usage

Needs an SSD though + I hope it has a IPS display.

What are you looking to use your laptop for? I could recommend a good gaming laptop. This laptop is pretty good all around.

 

I would definitely recommend getting a SSD. It's safer, more reliable and a good backup.

This is for school work and maybe a little minecraft. I dont play too many pc games.

This laptop is required for school. Im going to an engineering school so they require a good laptop :P
