June 27, 201312 yr Now I don't trust myself to calculate these kind of things but heres the question. If I buy 25k flax for 875k and make them into bowstrings by crafting them myself, and fletch magic longbows, string them, and alch them, will I make profit? I'm going to buy the nature runes. Also, will I make a profit on yew longbows doing that same method? Or how much will I lose per alch? Thanks in advance. Edited June 27, 201312 yr by Tempyy
June 27, 201312 yr You're gonna be profitting a whooole lot, yeah. 31.9m profit from the Magic longs, 12.7m profit if you alch Yew longs. Edited June 27, 201312 yr by Echo
June 27, 201312 yr That'd be really inefficient, overall it'd be alot better to bot or do something thats makes 200k p/h and just save up than cut 25k magic logs. Seeing as you cut less than 100 magics per hour, that's 250 hours of woodcutting minimum alone. Had you been making 200k p/h for that 250 hours you would have made 50m straight and been able to buy whatever you needed.
June 27, 201312 yr Yes Tempyy, it is. but as Smoke stated, it really would be a lot more efficient to make money another way and buy logs like that.
June 27, 201312 yr Author Well I currently have 30m cash in my bank, so if I buy my mage logs and i bought flax but not the bs, will I still profit? Same if I buy yews?
June 27, 201312 yr You would lose money on both if you bought logs. =\ If I were you, and you don't mind spending a bit longer, I'd buy Iron Ore & superheat. After you smelt all of the bars, smith them into Iron Knive(Link's script is great for this), and sell them off for 55 ~ 60gp ea, leading to minimal or no GP loss.
June 27, 201312 yr Here's the formula incase you want to find out exactly how much you can lose/earn : Alch value of a longbow - Nature rune cost - flax cost - logs cost (I assume you will not cut them after all) Price guides such as the one zybez has can give you the value of all that. And if you are really motivated, you could always set up an excel sheet
June 28, 201312 yr Buying magic/Yew longs already cut but not strung is fairly the same price aswell, but saves alot of time unless your going for fletch xp too.
