There was a Runescape Update today which broke the current version of the client, the developers have been notified and are aware of the situation. Once one of them get's on and fixes the issue they will release a new build.

All you need to do is look at how many people are in the chat box to see the clients currently down

Thanks Divinity, I thought it was something to do with the client but it says it's currently online so I thought it was on my side.
