HIJACKED ACCOUNT

Featured Replies

Hi my account just got hijacked while trying to run a script. I just tried to run the free agile SDN script Pandemics Gnome Agil Course. When i played the script it immediately logged my account out and when i stopped the script and tried to log in on my own the password had been changed almost immediately. I am on another one of my accounts now and someone is logged onto that account. i tried to message the account sand it said

unable to send message - player not on your friend list

even though the account is definitely on my friends list. I've only ever downloaded one local script and this is the link to it on the forums.

IDK how this possibly happened but i need help getting this account back. i have ran the gnome agility script before with no problems so i am confused as to how this happened

It's not the script. You either accidentally click a link/visited a site.

I have used that script for every new 1 agility account I have made for ages and it is 100% safe.

I tried using it once and it was super buggy, didn't even work for me it just stood there. So I bought a premium agility script aka PurplesRooftop script ;)

No i tried to get the account back using recovery questions and then i changed my password, and after jagex sent me an email confirming my password change i tried to log into my account using the new password and it said invalid password. I repeated the process and changed my password 1 more time and the same thing happened again (invalid password). How could this even be possible? i tried to log in immediately after changing the password, and like 5 minutes later both times.

You have a virus. You should first clean your PC with anti virus software. After you have cleaned your PC try and change your password to see if it works.

are you clicking links from your email to runescape?  there are phishing links going out atm that appear to be sent from jagex or runescape.  Other than that you have some how been keylogged (most likely unrelated to the script)  but they would have to be remotely watching you change your password then quickly changing it again.  What point would them having temporary control of your account serve? i have never heard of an account being repeatedly recovered so quickly, or somes new pass being changed immediately.

The only links i have been clicking were from actual jagex emails after i recovered the account. and i just called apple about the situation and they said that the chanced of someone key logging my mac are "astronomically slim". and yes i don't understand what the point of this is. it seems so bizarre

I only had about 1m 07 gp on the account and my stats on 07 weren't that good. the only way i could see them keeping the account is if they wanted an account with good EOC stats, and lets face it, who cares about EOC?

and they speed on the password change is impossible. I'm starting to think that jagex has something to do with this because i had an account banned yesterday using this same computer so maybe jagex is watching accounts coming from my IP address.

and if they were key logging me, wouldn't they have gotten the username and password of my other account that i have been logging in and out of all day as well?

Jagex involvement in this is possible, but not probable. I don't think they'd care too much about one botter when they have thousands of other gold farmers which are bigger issues to them. Try writing to account support and see if they can find the issue.

If you still need help finding out/removing a virus let me know. I can help you via teamviewer or skype if you don't trust me.

Would simply running an antivirus program work? my university offers a free antivirus system so i will go and pick that up tomorrow. i already looked up every process on my activity monitor and none of them came up with being malware on the top google searches.
