RayB Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Well, I'm glad to state that this is my first ever flat web design I have ever attempted and I somehow happened to complete it fairly quickly opposed to my others designs as there's not much complexity required on these designs. I personally like the concept and the main image, creating some shallow depth of field, easy to do but effective on this specific design. What do you guys think of the overall design? I'm hoping everyone agrees that it's professional as that's my primary aim on flat designs. http://postimg.org/image/oit35n04p/ for a much better quality version with exact pixels.
Dex Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Looks pretty good! Clean and simple. I'd make the shadowed side of this icon a tad lighter though. Edited March 21, 2014 by Dex
RayB Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 does look very nice imo. *Clap Clap* Well, I'm overjoyed as that was the initial objective I attempted to achieve from the offset.
Designer Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 seems pretty simple. did you use some framework to do this?
RayB Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 seems pretty simple. did you use some framework to do this? Well, simplicity is the aim. Framework in which terms?
Fruity Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Well, simplicity is the aim. Framework in which terms? think he means did you use like a template for your layout? maybe i not 100% sure aha
RayB Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 think he means did you use like a template for your layout? maybe i not 100% sure aha Well if he means that, no I didn't. I simply started the concept design by just plotting random rectangles and organizing them in to a structure that fits well. I then gave them suitable effects (gradients and outlines) to define them and then had to give it text. Not much complexity is required to be honest.
