Can a free sdn script later be switched to non free?

Featured Replies

If I release a script on the sdn for free for testing purposes, can I later switch it to paid? If so what happens to all the people that currently have been using the free version? Are they unable to use it now?

Also, if it is a quest script, what do I do about the 6 hour proggy requirement?

1) Yes, only one time though, so it won't be able to be switched back to free.

2) I believe they all lose access to the script, and will have to purchase it.

3) Not too sure on this, you might need to post a few videos of it successfully doing the quest on different accounts.

Ok, thank you sir

You can just have the script as a local version in the testing stage so you don't need to add it to the sdn.

As in putting the .class files out to the public? Would rather not do that.

Obfuscation my friend.

Unneeded hassle

Unneeded hassle

Not really.

It takes anywhere from 4 - 24 hours(Depending when the managers push them) to have a update pushed to the SDN, after you submitted it.

It takes me about 3 minutes to obfuscate my jar, send it to a tester, and if there's a issue, it's fixed and sent back out.

So I don't believe it's a "hassle".

What free program do you use to obfuscate?

Ok cool i'll check it out thanks

When obfuscating remember to also include a date where if the script is run after the select date have it just pop up an error message. Will keep people from attempting to resell it :p

True, but some people over-estimate the difficulty of deobbing.
