Question about graphic design.

So, I'm quite interested in learning about graphic design, however, I don't really know the first thing about it. I'd eventually like to make a career out of it if I can get good enough at it.

My question to you is;

What would it take to become a graphic designer? Any certain coding? Maybe just professional use of things like PhotoShop? Where do I even begin? If you were applying for a job in this field, what kind of experience would you need under your belt?

Thanks for reading. :)

Watch tutorials, practise yourself, get feedback and improve.

YouTube is a great source with tutorials!

Deviantart is a great source of examples of other peoples work!

You don't have to code if you just want to design, although if you want to be like a graphic designer for websites you will have to know some coding such as html/css,jQuery,JavaScript,PHP etc.

What I used to teach myself coding is thenewboston.org , he has a lot of vids explaining all kinds of programming and designing.

Good luck, you can always pm me if you have questions, I'm currently attending the study Application Developer/Media Developer.

I have an associates degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, not that you need any type of degree with Graphics design it will put you one step ahead of someone who doesn't when trying to get a job.

There is a lot to be learned. This link below has a few of the classes that I took my first year, and many others that you would need to learn and remember.

50 Totally Free Lessons in Graphic Design Theory

Also, learning to code in basic languages and have the skills of a graphic designer and there is no limit to what you can achieve, from web design/app design leaving you many options in the job fields. Once you are a master of all of this you can make 30k-100k a year, depending on your experience, level of knowledge and skill.
