Please explain the giant upside to using Groovy?

I just HATE the syntax personally and simple Java is more wide spread, if you guys want success and proper scripts and coders to come and join us, consider at least a better language :L

@House i know dude theres alot of bugs that are still there and not updated. Java is coming though soon dont worry you will be slaughtering chickens in no time :P

I hid my post, right after I saw I double posted, it's due to a lot of traffic making the site lag that's why it double posted.

Groovy is a pretty cool language, it has a similar syntax to Java and if anything it has more options than Java does. But it all comes to down to preference at the end I guess.

why are we using groovy? because its easier and faster to write code with

 

complain about it all you want, but just be glad clojure wasnt the default

Java will be implemented soon.

Please get your facts straight @OP. Groovy syntax is almost a 100% similar to Java. It was added as the first language because it doesn't need to be compiled thus making it easy for us to test the bots features. Closing this. Java will be added next week on the next release.
