Hey Everyone! So I have an interesting topic and hope everyone can help me out. I was talking with a friends about runescape and how I bot in 07 and its fun and blah blah blah lol and he told me that sites like osbot are illegal and I retorted back saying no they are not. Then he was like I dont understand how theyre still a website if runescape clearly knows theirs a botting website. Thats where this topic plays in. How exactly are we still able to bot lol. Like how is osbot not shut down. Dont get me wrong I love this site but how are we able to be ok. Well answer below

only botting sites to be shutdown from rs were because of copyright infringement.

OSBot and similar bots exist because there is nothing illegal about them and Jagex is too lazy/cheap to sue them to death.

But what about those people jagex sued Ibot

I think Jagex has gone after one bot, RSBot I think :p

Something isn't illigal until proven so by a court not by Jagex saying something is illigal as they do not have jurisdiction outside of runescape.

 

Yes there have been bots shutdown for example taking a look at world of warcraft bots also there has been one bot or more that got shutdown by Jagex you can google for it.

 

I don't think OSBot will get shutdown anytime soon I woulden't worry about it the law of the netherlands is much more in favor of OSBot then Jagex not to mention court cases can take years.

Lets be honest, if Jagex reallllly wanted to stop bots, they could result to ilegal means OR legal means

 

but never the less, Osbot isnt illegal because it is NOT modifying the game

I could of sworn i heard about it being legal for it's like an open source to learn coding , something like that
