Help me decide for my future gaming pc!

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of getting a gaming pc. I won't really play games on ultra anyway so I guess i'll go with medium/high settings. Basically i got 2 options.

I can get the amd fx 8350 with a r9 270x OR i can get the amd fx 8350 with a gtx 760.

I know the gtx 760 is better than the r9 270x, however if i stick with the r9 270x i  only need a 450w psu. If i get the 760 then i need a 650w psu. Overall with the psu upgrade and the graphics card, there is a £75difference. Is it worth spending £75 more for the gtx 760 or should i just stick with the r9 270x? Is there a massive fps difference between the two gpus?

well amd has a way better price/performance ratio :/

Not even close to being truth. There's a gaming CPU's capability, and rendering capabilitiy.

Intel is more viable, can be overclocked VERY much, (in my case, i5 3570k, 3,4 GHZ -> 4.5 GHZ per core), they generally are less likely to fuck up compared to intels...

I'd personally only consider AMD if not looking for a gaming PC, but one for a work (rendering).

Never ever combine a AMD with a nVidia, that's trouble-time.

Always combine Intel -> nVidia or AMD -> AMD for better performance.

What are you talking about? I have an AMD card with an intel i5, and never had any problems......

Same never had any problems with it.

I also have the i7-4930k with 7970's in crossfire, no problems at all

Build your own... can customise to your own preferences and is pretty much half the price

yeh im customziing myself and i saw youtube fps tests on bf4 with the fx 8350 and gtx 760 and they get 50-60 fps on ultra so yeh i doubt there wud be problems with a nvedia gpu with a amd cpu lol.

Don't know who told you this but you need to stop talking to him... As for the OP I would go with the 270x, I don't think that the gtx 760 is worth the extra $70. And the ones telling you that AMD is a bad choice i'm just taking it they're fanboys lol seriously the 8350 beats the i7 3770k in a lot of things especially in streaming and its a $100 cheaper lol and even in some games it beats it by a far. I  mean you would expect to get your moneys worth with the extra $100 but you really dont. I would just stick with the 8350 and as for the people saying that the 8350 is bad actually give a good reason because I dont see why its bad at all when it beats some of intels high end cpus in lots of things.

The only bad thing about it is the noisy stock cooler it's rediculously loud and the power if you're gonna be botting 24/7 for a year that extra 100$ you save on getting a 8350 instead on a intel CPU you will have paid for in power costs even more.
