Why this community is terrible.

Featured Replies

Having joined this community a couple weeks ago, I've seen it expand and seen how many members have joined.

I really like this bot, more than any bot I have ever seen in RuneScape, however I'm sad to say that the community in this forum is very terrible.

The main reason for this is that the script writers are the biggest jews I have ever experienced. They try to sell you their overly priced scripts for 3 or 5M RSGP which is completely not worth it at all. No-one bothers releasing their scripts as "we're not making any profit out of it" quoting a script writer which I will not name here. I have witnessed 3-4 script writers PMing me, and asking me to buy their scripts; I see no reason why I should buy a script as it is against the rules, yet 90% of the script writers still sell scripts.

There are obviously other bots out, such as Advertising other bots isn't allowed., which even though it costs money, has a huge variety of scripts that the script writers release willingly for free. The SDN has been released for around 4 days, and yet there are still only 4 or 5 scripts on it? What is up with that? We are a community, and we should share to each other; please note that I am not begging here, I'm simply asking to be more generous. What is the point of having an amazing bot when there are no scripts available because the fucking script writers are keeping them private or selling?

I'm not flaming here, I just want to say that I'm very disappointed with the way these script writers are abusing this bot and cornering the market like this is some business.

Put your comments down below please, I would like all script writers to read this.

tl;dr: Script writers are only selling their scripts and not releasing anything.

Hey how about if you dont like it then just leave??

I don't feel that I should expose the people, as they are highly respected VIP and script developer ranks. However, if a moderator or admin wishes to know then I'll happily post a screenshot of the PMs.

Exactly, this bot is free and I don't see why people should charge me for their scripts. I don't know shit about script writing, and that is partly why I feel that this community is messed up.

The reason there are only 8 scripts in the SDN currently is because we have not had the time to set everyone up with the SDN. This takes time. I would like you to call out names, as obviously selling scripts without our consent is against the rules and those who are doing it should be punished, for the greater good. I will be closing this as I see no reason to discuss this, you can send me names in a PM and I will take action.

Our bot is free and I believe most scripts should be free, unless they contain a certain level of effort and quality where a price can be paid for it. However, this will never be allowed without our consent and everyone is encouraged to report people who are trying to sell scripts behind our backs. If it are any of our script developers, I would like to know because I will gladly remove their rank and access to OSBot.

Why shouldn't people want to get rewarded for their efforts? Its being kinda cheap in my opinion and to post this I kinda find it as a shot fired at the community. We're kind to each other and we all like to reward each other for the work others do. I think its a stable little economy we have going here. We pay money for the scripts that better our accounts or even make us that money back.

@Lee, although this is true, the real reason why all of you are here is because we have spent 40 hours a week for the past 3 months working on this bot. Script writers selling scripts at OSBot for money without our consent while we explicitly stated we do not allow shows very little respect towards us. If the case would have been they would have asked for permission, we would probably have given their permission and would have given them a public channel to do this through.
