Actually the pickup list doesn't require you to know the IDs, just the names smile.png!

 

This can actually be a problem, I'm currently using an Auto fighter which picks up specific IDs. This is incredibly useful when differentiating different types of Unid herbs and allowing you to pick up noted items instead of singular as they're different IDs. Adding additional ID support would always be a good idea.
