Why is the client 14mb?

Featured Replies

I don't understand as to why the client is 14mb, is it even trustworthy?

  • Author

It contains libraries that the client without it wont work like Groovy and ASM

So using this I wont mysteriously wake up one morning to find that my rs account on eoc and 07 got cleaned?

No... The 14mb is not even that much.

If you think a bot this trusted and known would be hacking people, I think you'd have heard about it.

Tldr: Its safe.

You realize that viruses can be as small as 1kb? Anyways, to answer your question: the jar is packed with a lot of libraries, of which Groovy is the largest taking up like 40% of the jar. Besides that, ASM take its portion of the jar as well. Our own compiled code is around 2mb.

no this client is a virus don't download it.

Used it for a bit and I guess I was kinda too quick to judge.

As for the 14mb size, is it mostly the ads which make it the 14mb? (files for the ads)

The adds are loaded from the internet, they are not in the jar. See my post regarding the size of the jar a couple of posts back.

You seriously think we would even bother to replay to this thread if that was the case?

Also i know viruses can be in jar but most keyloggers i see use .exe where as osbot uses .jar
