Marijuana: Legal or illegal.

Featured Replies

im from the netherlands, and yes i smoke.

dont can get any reasons why it should be illegal!

The main problem is that it's hard to tax; plus, existing tobacco corporations will certainly fight hard to keep their lion's share of the market for smokers.  If it were legalized, though, I believe smoking weed would be safer and (obviously) more regulated.

If marijuana is illigal I just want to know why smoking and drinking are legal since there is undenyable proof they are harmful when Green is not for majority of people. I understand the tax part but wouldn't it just be similar to tobacco in that regard anyway?

Yes, but the problem is that suddenly taxing every bit of marijuana sold in the United States would be completely impossible.

There will always be underground markets for everything. They don't tax all the tobacco that goes to America either, there will always be people avoiding taxes on any product. It's a consumable so if they just start taxing whats coming in from now the product already there will dry up and become a similar situation to tobacco. It wouldn't be instantaneous but it would work.

it should remain ilegal for the simple fact, most people that smoke it, also smoke other things, fun fact: most hard drug users, start with weed.

It's not actually legal in The Netherlands. We got some needlessly complicated constructions which makes it so that shops can sell it, but they're technically not allowed to buy it. You're legally also not allowed to have it, but they decided that if you got below a certain amount you won't be punished.

They should just legalize it already. Along with all other drugs and banned substances.

Not true

Well isn't Colorado getting a new law passed for Marijuana? Cigarettes are much worse for you. Alcohol is worse for you. ( and by that I mean your liver.) So many people die constantly of drunk driving/ alcohol poisoning. I know for a fact my mom smokes it because her room always smells like it and whenever she is done smoking it she's relaxed. I don't smoke Marijuana. Think about it, Marijuana is being used for medicinal purposes. Marijuana doesn't make you hallucinate, trip out, make you lose your hair or anything stupid like that. It's just supposed to relax you.  I support legalization of Marijuana.

It does have a psychiatric attribute to it, you can trip on it (more the sativa side of it)
