Problems with OSBot. Questions about fixes?

Featured Replies

Hello, I have quite an issue with OSBot that I need to settle my mind about. Recently I was hacked after using OSBot, and I lost everything. I am going to list the items I lost, then I will continue this article.

Items stolen (top to bottom=most valuable to least valuable):

1. Full dragon plate set + bandos godsword

2. 17m

3. 3 sets of partyhats

4. full sets of all rares

5. herblore supplies

6. 10+ of all holy book pages

7. Skilling items (items to be sold for money)

8. about 1m-2m worth of junk

9. A couple Ring of Wealths

Now, as you can imagine, I was KINDA PISSED. It didn't help at ALL that he hacked me as I was logging on, so I knew I was being hacked but I was helpless! I knew I was being hacked because I got on another account and that account was logged in. Now, I do not blame this on OSBot for the most part, because it was a scripter if it was OSBot; but I need to know that I am safe!

Side notes:

My password was IMPOSSIBLE TO GUESS. Do this sjklfbsldvh[oqnpi... that was kinda like my password.

I had a PIN set.

In reply to Swizzbeasts, I did not use a gold generator or anything of that sort.

In the comments below, please answer the following:

If you are a staff member of OSBot:

1. How can this be avoided in the future?

2. What action is being taken on scripters who hack their clients?

3. Are you checking EVERY line of code to make sure their are no keyloggers before allowing it to be released?

4. Any other things you want to say?

If you are a normal member:

1. What are your views on OSBot and it's members' account's safety?

2. How long have you used OSBot?

3. Do you trust them?

I have ONE more request. If you are willing to help me out and get me back up, please donate to me! Leave a comment below saying what you'll give and I'll reply ASAP.

Thank you,

Odd Doktor

Hmm, what scripts did you use?

Try listing them all, maybe the mods might be able to check all those out.

This way we could determine if you got infected within OSBot or an outside source.

SDN Scripts are clean, local scripts have a possibility of not being clean.

You probably downloaded some nasty porn, gold generators etc, or clicked some EXE in a youtube video, OR You downloaded a local script that didnt have a virus check post and was probably posted by someone with 1 post and joined yesterday.

List the scripts you were using.

If you are a staff member of OSBot:

1. How can this be avoided in the future? You most likely download a 'goldgenerator.exe' next time do not download these false claiming programs because 'We something is too good to be true it usually is'.

2. What action is being taken on scripters who hack their clients? No such hacking from scripters has been brought to my attention so it wasn't a 'Scripter' that hacked you.

3. Are you checking EVERY line of code to make sure their are no keyloggers before allowing it to be released? The only potentionally risky scripts are the local scripters however even then it's very unlikely for something like this to occur.

4. Any other things you want to say? Next time be safe and use proper procedures when downloading anything.

1. What are your views on OSBot and it's members' account's safety?

  • Sometimes takes a long time to get much needed updates.
  • A developer once leaked OSBot's database, just thought I'd throw that out there.
  • This site is dying at a fast rate. at least 5 of the staff members have resigned or been demoted.

2. How long have you used OSBot?

  • Member Since 05 Jul 2013

3. Do you trust them?

  • Nah. one of the new administrators is an alleged scammer, and The three developers are almost never online.(recently an rs update occured and it took them three days to fix it, because they are so inactive.) I also hear that it takes forever to get paid as a scripter, and that updates for scripts never get pushed. Also if you think it's bad that scripters don't get paid, good luck getting a refund on an outdated script. (It's funny because most of the outdated scripts would be up to date if an admin could push them to the SDN.)

Sorry for your loss man, I'm sure one of the new staff can help you if you list some of the local scripts you used. Other than that you are going to get bombarded by members and staff telling you "don't download a gold generator from youtube noob lol."

OSBot does not hack its users.

I recommend that you immediately scan your computer with an anti-malware program such as malwarebytes or avast.
