Need help with PC restarting! PLEASE <3

Featured Replies

Ok so I built my first budget PC. But it works well for what I need it to do until... It restarts randomly.
Thing is it only restarts when it switches to High performance from the  "AI SUITE" Mini bios type deal. Look here

Auto settings give me good solid performance and switches to other settings based on how much power is needed.

Not a lot of usage = Power saver
Medium usage = High performance

And on High performance it randomly restarts about 2 minutes in.. Its extremely frustrating because I really have no idea what it could be but if I could make it stay on Auto without switching it'd be perfect..

It never restarts on "Max. power saving" but I do not get good performance whatsoever..

Here is most of my hardware -

My motherboard, (Bios is up to date)

My Ram,
My PSU,
I also have a 200GB Western Digital HDD that is pretty damn old, I suspect its either this or the PSU.
And I have a Cooler Master Hyper T4 CPU fan installed which helps it stay nice and cool.
Highest the temp has ever been is like 45c so I really do not think over heating is an issue at all.

Also please do not come at me with an elitist techy attitude.. I'm just looking for a little help from someone more knowledgeable.
Thanks

You got 1 ram stick stick it in the first colored slot right from the CPU.

Before looking at any other post do this as RAM is nearly always the cause of computer problems and checking a psu etc isn't gonna be easy.

I guess its your PSU. High performance requires a high wattage. If you use a different PSU, does it still restart?

Yes it is in the right slot and works perfectly on any other setting beside High Performance.

I haven't been able to test it yet. Would hate to drop 50 bucks and have it not be the problem /:

Not exactly sure but it could be the cpu overheating becouse of the gpu inside.

I don't think it's the psu as if there was a problem it would probably not start at all I am not sure but I don't see how all of your components could go beyond the 450watt the psu should be able to handle trust me I run stronger gpu/cpu on a system with a 450watt psu.

Not sure if you've fixed it yet, but can you boot into windows? (Im guessing you're using windows?).

Yea I'm using Winodws 7 64bit

It's your shitty psu. You need a new one with more watts.

And are you sure because I calculated it out on some site and it said max I would need with current setup is like 300.

Not all PSU's put out as much wattage as described. That's why getting a reliable brand and rating helps to make sure you're getting what you're paying for.

The PSU IS QUITE GOOD

Reliable and one of the best brand in PSU's.

Thats what I thought. It has a lot of positive reviews and it wasn't a cheap generic 20$ one.
