Difference between bot bust and Macroing Goldfarmer?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, just wanted to ask quickly how these bans vary. I understand there have been ALOT of bans recently, including 90% of my own bots!

If someone could just explain the difference in ban It'd be very appreciated.

I guess you mean this :

Bot busting - is when a player is reported for botting a skill e.g. Fishing and more then 1 player reports you.

Gold farming - is when jagex sees in there database that a player has transfered gold to the same ip.

There are actually 3 types.

Macroing - I believe this is for if their 'systems' catch you botting.

Bot Busting - When a mod catches you botting and bans you manually.

Gold Farming - When you trade large sums of gold. (Sometimes botters get these even if they don't goldfarm)

The usual progression is 2 day ban, then permanent ban for any sort of macroing. And instant permanent for Gold farming.

Bot busting - J-Mod gives you a 2 day ban. This could be either from user reports (as stated by 2006), or it can be from mod's checking the area if it's a frequently botted place. I have 2 private scripts and I've only ever received a bot busting ban once with 40 accounts running over a 3-4 month span.

Macroing gold farmer - Most likely from botting multiple accounts under one IP address, in which the IP is flagged. Or transferring items between accounts.

wrong ^^^^^^

Bot busts: when you have like one acc botting on your ip

Macroing gold farmer:more than 3 accs being botted on your ip so they perm all without a warning

This is pretty interesting, because I don't get the difference as well.

A goldfarming ban is given to flagged ip's. It has nothing to do with how many accounts are logged in or trading gold.

Disagree. I know a chinese gold reseller who got a gold farming ban even though he ONLY does rwt.

A lot of you guys are posting false information. If you're not sure then don't post or make it clear you're guessing.

False. GoldFarming is selling gold for money. So a GoldFarming bombastic EVERYTHING to do with trading gold. Or if you're just botting methods which make good money you can get it. GoldFarming bans are instant permanent. Also you didn't explain what a flagged IP was/how you get them. You're IP is flashed is Jagex highly suspects you if botting or you've gotten previous bans.

Bot busting doesn't have much to do with reports. It's just when an online mod catches you botting and bans you on the spot.

And what does it matter what IP you trade to. Trading large amounts of gold to ANY IP can result in . GoldFarming ban.

You don't necessity need 'more than 3' accounts botting why do you say this? Anything that makes good money can potentially get your a GoldFarming ban, or just trading large amounts of gold can.
