Hey guys! Recently, a fellow Dutchman called me out on the public chat in Runescape while I was botting.

The bot misclicked, typed a few things in public chat and the guy called me a botter.

Now it has come to my attention that this person is a fellow OSBot member.

I am obviously not going to name and shame this person.. because, well, why would I?

What are your thoughts on calling other botters out, or reporting others?

Personally, I report Chinese goldfarm bots.. other than that, I don't care.

I never report people, but there was this one time when some guy spammed that i was a bot and he reported me(in year 2010-2011) , he had such a name that i could easily remember, next week i saw that same guy botting... then i reported the bastard:D

(I had script log chat whenever someone yelled out my name, i could see it later)

if there stupid enough to have a name like gdgtshtgdfgfgfg then i will report them all day long for there shear stupidity.

How do you know he is from OSBot? And how can you differentiate a Chinese goldfarmer from a normal botter or an American goldfarmer?

If you are a botter, it's ridiculous to call other botters out but if you've only played legit then it's completely reasonable.

I know for a fact that he's a botter and that he's a member of this community.

His Runescape name is (these names are made up) like 'Longjohn12' while his OSBot name is 'Longjohn'.

It's a Dutch word and quite unique, so the chance that it's someone else is very slim.

Other than that.. I'm speaking to him right now and he basically confirmed. ;)

As for the goldfarmers: are you kidding? Their names are xinghao8235, standard clothes, level 3.

i report obvious botters.  if you aren't a LITTLE bit discrete about it, you don't care if you are caught or not. If you don't wish to be caught, don't make your name "fikbahdk11233" and bot obvious spots.  When you start, make sure you change your clothes, and if you don't, make sure you wear robes or something else when you DO bot.

Basically, if you make an effort to at least pretend you are playing legit, i don't report you.

This post made me lol

Why's that?

To add to the OP story: I couldn't care less whether someone reports me or not.

I'm basically always babysitting and chatting while botting. I doubt I'll be banned now and in the future. I've put in alot less effort in my 'normal' Runescape account while botting.. like,  unning a superheater for 40 hours straight without even looking, the bot being in a random for hours on end.. and the account isn't banned. It doesn't have a single mark.

The fact that you caught him botting red-handed and you later confronted him, also using a botting name as your Runescape name is a stupid way to tell Runescape "Hey I'm botting"

I didn't confront him. I am botting myself, so why would I confront him with the fact he's botting?

I meant as in you had a chat with him later and he confirmed he was botting, technically that's confronting him

As far as I know, confronting means facing someone in a hostile manner.. but nevermind.

If you want to call it confronting.. call it confronting. I talked to him and he knows my OSBot name as well. That's fine.

I never report them. I have even had a few people ask me to report a botter when I'm questing or w/e, I just tell them that I have reported them even if I haven't.
