just got a one day at range guild, the ban wasn't from a j mod so who? and it said if I commit this again I will be perm.....that's kinda harsh don't you think?

A temp ban is better than a perm. Consider yourself lucky.

You only get two chances. First ban is a warning and usually results in a 1-2 day ban, then the next offence you commit results in a perma.

So far all my accounts got permed without the warning ban. You should praise yourself lucky.
