VPN = RISK?

Featured Replies

So, I was considering using a VPN to bot on some accounts, but then I remembered, understanding basic protocols that a network is a VERY vulnerable sector, good for hacking people... So I said, F that. and i'm not in the mood to get a nice d-dos attack on my ip, or worse a network rat. So im just wondering if there are preventive measures people can take when using a VPN? or you're just done ;)?

I'm no expert on networks and stuff, but what exactly is dangerous about using a vpn? I thought it would be better for preventing ddos attacks since people can't get your IP.

Also, I don't suggest using a vpn, tonnes of them are ip flagged by jagex

I believe most VPN's are flagged already, you'll usually get banned right off the bat. I'm not sure about hacking etc.

Considering even players using VPNs for Pvp alone were snagging macro bans in the past and many people are claiming Goldfarm bans from them now, I would use one with extreme caution and not with a valuable account.

Do not use a VPN, you accurately do not know which ones have been flagged (jagex has the Ips of the VPS and if you login to the accounts using the Ip you will be most likely instantly banned).

Can't you ask your provider for an IP change?

Can be simply done by calling them here in Belgium.

Best of luck!
