I have purchased an 07 account. What are all of the steps I can take to prevent a recovery of the account? How safe am I? I have all jag answers (how can I remove?), it's attached to my email, I've changed the pw, etc. Thanks!

You can NOT prevent an account from getting recovered.

If the person who sold it to you has the ISP, date made, stuff like that, then there is no way to stop them from recovering it. 

Okay, well it was an account trade. So if I have all of the similar info, I can recover mine back as well? If he did recover his, would I be justified in recovering mine back?

 

For me, I'm just mildly suspicious because I gave the guy feedback and he refuses to feedback me or our MM in return (I assume he wants to say he never took part in the trade, so that he can scam me and attempt to get away with it). He was an overall nice guy, but I've got to be suspicious, I'm a cautious person. Also, since he didn't FB me (said he would but then refused after the transaction), would it be fair that I request the positive FB I gave him be removed?

He owns it I believe, and I didn't get the original email. To be fair, he didn't have the original email from the account I traded either. I've also removed all the wealth and put it on my secondary account, so if he recovers, I hope to recover mine and keep his 20m 07 gp. Hopefully all goes well I suppose. Will he be able to recover it indefinitely? Or will I be safe after a couple of months of keeping it in my possession?

aslong as the seller is a trust member of OSBOT you should be fine.

The best way to safely buy an account is to ask for all the account details, i.e, isp used to create, date created, payment information, and then try and recover the account yourself. Then at least you might have some chance of recovering it back if they recover it.

 

But besides that, there really is no way to protect a purchased account from being recovered. After an account I bought got recovered though I emailed Jagex and told them I had purchased the account and they should ban the owner for real world trading, doubt it worked though :P

Don't leave valuable items on it. If you're gold farming with it, clean it every day or w/e you feel is necessary.

The worst part is that I want it to me my legit account, but I'm scared to even play it since I don't want to waste 50 hours playing to lose it lol. Shit.
