Discussion of Rule 1, 6, and 7

Featured Replies

Rule 1-

Lately, I have been seeing many people talking about other botting sites, or saying that they have vouches from other sites. You can say that all you want but once you start posting the name of the actual site, then that is when we have an issue.

Rule 6-

Grave digging has started to become a small issue. Nothing to major, just wanted to bring it to peoples attention that it is technically against the rules. I will only let it slide if it something that has valuable to the thread. If it is simple "Lol", "Nice", or any other meaningless post it will be removed, the thread will be closed, and the user will receive a small infraction.

Rule 7-

Any link leading to an outside "community" of sorts is not allowed. I would just like to make that clear to users. Also, links that are found to have malicious content will be removed, and the user will be banned.

Thanks guys, just wanted to bring to your attention of some of things that I see around the community.

Thanks for clearing some of this up.

Off-topic:

Not sure if bumping is allowed or not, but whenever I try to bump my important threads, it doesn't work. (Yes, I am waiting a 24 hour period.)

I think you should be allowed to mention other sites but not suggest others to go there. For example:

"I have vouches on the site www.example.com" should be allowed, I understand the reluctance to advertise other sites but having it so that you can't mention which site means people can just claim to have vouches when they don't. Something like "I sold my account on www.example.com, you could try to sell your's there" obviously shouldn't be allowed.

I will talk to Kati to see if she disabled this somehow. Thanks for your input.

I understand what you are saying, but that still is leading to another site and what not. Lets say you OWN an RSPS, and you allow your users to say this: "Hey guys, I have some great vouches at www.example.com. If you just want to take a look, you will see I am a trusted member on their RSPS!"

That would allow other people who didn't know about the site to go and visit. Now, there are some popular sites, that most of us know, but we don't want to put their name on OUR website. Get what I am saying?

So would it be alright, if I was to buy/sell anything to say "I have vouches on another site, PM me for details" and then I show proof non-publicly?

Then wouldn't mediafire and other uploading websites be considered this? if so how are we to upload our scripts and tools which in turn would mean we need to wait for the respiratory?

No, as long as the files don't contain malicious/suspicious things. The reason I deleted your link was just because they could go straight to the website. There was no need for you to upload it to mediafire. It was my judgement that it would just be better not to take the chance on the upload, and rather use the exact link. You can upload files to those sites, but "links" are more referring to malicious and links that go to different sites.

@Dic

That one I believe would still be iffy. I will check with Kati and the other admins, but I am fairly sure as long you don't specifically post the link/name of the other site ON the website, then you should be ok. Again, I will check.

What I highlighted in red is wrong. I asked Kati and links to other communities are allowed as long as they are not related to RuneScape in any way. You may want to double check with her though.

Bumping is pointless. If everyone bumps their thread, it pretty much is the same as if no one bumped their thread. :)

The rule itself says, forums.

7. Links – Links that are leading to other forums, RSPS, or botting services are not allowed. Refer to rule 1.

If that is not allowed then the rules need to be updated.

"If it is simple "Lol", "Nice", or any other meaningless post it will be removed, the thread will be closed, and the user will receive a small infraction." - That's the most rule people don't follow, I think people should be aware off this the most.

I think the rules do need to be updated.
