From my own experience, osbot won't launch at all on newer version of Ubuntu (above 18) if that's what you're using. There was a bug report somewhere but I don't think anything has been fixed yet

also use

and choose the number that has openjdk-8 on it

get Virtualbox and download an earlier version of Ubuntu

[It's how I debug my scripts]

 

Or just get a VPS

Did you have any luck? having the same issue with my VPS installing JRE 8. openJDK 8 didn't work.
