i was looking more into gold farming opposed to leveling my main with botting.

There's two ways to bot: smart or suicide. If that guide doesn't fit the style you're looking for and you want purely gold farming, you can try suicide bot farms but you'll probably need a good investment up front and expectations to get banned a lot.
