Do i need to take any precaution when im making new accounts to bot on? For example should i use a VPN? I'm using proxy's when actually botting on the accounts, but when i create them im doing so without anything of the sort.

I think it would be smart to use vpn of same country that you later using proxies to bot since otherwise you will have a chance that your account will get locked

Just stick to the proxy, no need to try making them using a VPN. 
When creating them you can get an extension to enable proxies btw.
