It would help a lot if you gave us a price range too :-)

What would you use an i7 and 8GB for if not gaming, seems a bit overkill/unnecessary spending, unless you're running some other intensive processes. What do you plan to do with it?

Screen size preference? What size HD do you want?

Edit:

Asus is a good band here's an option:

You can pretty much just go to amazon and use the boxes on the side to filter out your preference, and then sort by rating to see a large list of good choices.

trying to keep it under €1k, i like a big screen but tbh i dont really care that much, but idk how manny/much inch an average screen is tongue.png and im planning to do a little botting and photoshop tongue.png might start making hardstyle tracks more often but idk if FL studio is really taxing tongue.png

idk if its possible but an SSD would be awesome, other than that i think 200GB+ is perfect, if it's an SSD it can be smaler though

Those all seem a bit out of his price range or more powerful then he needs, also he said he doesn't need one for gaming, so buying a 'gaming' geared laptop will cost more than a non-gaming oriented one. Gaming branded laptops always cost more 1) Due to good specs/gfx card, and 2) Just because you call it 'gaming' you can expect people to pay a premium :p

He asked for an i7 and one under £1k and that's what I done. You aren't going to find many laptops with 8GB RAM and an i7 and it not being called a gaming laptop because that is a major selling point when it comes to i7 processors with good RAM in a laptop. Hell mine cost me £450 and it has an i3, 10GB RAM and a GT 640M and it's called a gaming laptop but I didn't pay a premium price?

Hmm fair enough, those are some odd specs for a laptop, how do you have 10G RAM do 5G sticks exist?

Yeah I guess a lot of the higher end laptop are classified as gaming, but many are not and just called 'ultrabooks' or business oriented. The one I linked (if converted) comes out to £438.21, but maybe wherever he lives it would come out to a bit more.

Yeah, we're all just trying to help, I just feel there are some cheaper options out there, thanks :-)

I'd look up reviews for other MSI laptops, not sure how great they are build wise.

It also has has a GTX740M  which is a GPU (for gaming).

The one I linked in also much cheaper (at amazon in $) and also has comparable specs.

As I said before you should go to a few sites and just use the filter settings and see what results and price ranges you get.

On the phone right now but I can help more later!

I guess I'll have to give a pitch to Clevo since they probably won't be mentioned. They are more expensive though. Look into the Y510p for a cheaper laptop that's still decent.

can't ignore an admins suggestion :P

I have no idea how they done it, I got a free RAM upgrade when I opted for the SSD purchase so they upgraded it to 10GB RAM. When i get my laptop back from repair I'll screenshot the specs the DVD drive was fucked on it so that's why it's back with Acer. The problem is with laptops you can't really buy American and hope they ship it to the UK so he'd need to find the same laptop here which will cost him probably £100 more than the American price unfortunately. Especially if it's an import.
