Residential proxies are usually infected computers so they come up and down very sporadically. The residential proxies which aren't from illegal means are usually in random countries like Vietnam or Congo and have piss poor speeds. 1

Other than this, theres really no need to get residential, its definitely one of the biggest memes of runescape botting in my opinion.
