PSU shortage :c

Featured Replies

I bought a Corsair TX650 PSU and received it yesterday. I set it up, and turned on my pc, and it wasn't working. I'm new to PC building so I figure that was the issue. But when I tried to take it out the sata cable got stuck in my dvd drive and the head of it got ripped off. I figured if I put electrical tape it wouldn't effect it. But now I am thinking it may have short circuited it. I tried to run it with the paper clip method, and it will turn on for 5 seconds then shut off. I don't know what to do and it'd suck if I broke it. Please help!

Corsair. 'Nuff said.

 ???

Corsair is one of the most reliable companies when it comes to PSU's. It's due to my stupidity that it might have been broken.

Also, Xavier there is no sure thing that new egg will accept it. It sort of was my fault. I guess idk

The DVD drive accident doesn't explain why the PC never turned on in the first place...you sure all cables were plugged in correctly? Remember there is sometimes a 4-pin plug in the motherboard that needs plugged in as well. Depends on the motherboard though. So i'd check to make you plugged everything in correctly. Failing that it's a PSU fault so yeah RMA it!
