10 Years of jail over Runescape!?

Featured Replies

John pillault, a 19 year old kid, said something sarcastic on Runescape to another player that involved him shooting up a local school after a player approached him and said "kill yourself". The player who said "kill yourself" took a screen shot or recorded josh saying this and reported him to the authorities. They raided his house, arrested him and assumed what he said was said seriously and they actually think there was a chance he was going to commit this act. (Not sure on how the kid who reported got his address)

That was 10 months ago. He has been sitting in jail for the last 10 months waiting for his sentencing so he can get up to 10 years in prison and a $250k fine. He saw no other option and plead guilty to the charge.

Doesn't anyone beside me think this is fucking ridiculous? I mean we all lost our shit when Twinkies were threatened, and no one is giving one fuck about this abuse of power? I have seen much worse shit being said rs, lol, cod, etc. What if the police started holding everyone accountable for words spoken on games? I'd probably be in jail for the rest of my life.

Anyways, back to the story, His teachers, parents, inmates, and even security guards have been left wondering and confused by the fact that he is still in jail. After his house was searched the police found no weapons of any sort that he could use to commit this act with. His teachers say He is a nice kid and could never do anything like this. And what about this kid who said kill yourself? Is that not extreme cyber bullying? Why is he not being held responsible for his actions?

"Wasting tax payer money jailing some kid who got pissed off on a game and said something really stupid, while the motherfuckers in wallstreet and big bankers are still walking free. The real criminals. Fuck America!" - Kain Drakan, Facebook.

That is all. I just made this thread to raise awareness of the injustice going on in our country. I hope you guys support him being released because a innocent 19 year old should not have to waste the best years of his life behind bars and waste $250k for doing what almost everyone on the internet has at one time done. Threaten another player with stupid shit. I mean think of all the 07Gold and levels he could buy for $250K. No but seriously, spread the word and help raise awareness for shit like this.

Here is the article:

-.-' same thing has been said about a guy from league. I do not believe these things are real.

They are I was talking to Silentc0re about them after his video about them

Lol why would he plead guilty if there is no evidence other than the words he typed that would indicate he was intending to commit, or even capable of comitting such an act?

IF this is true, How Pathetic, what is this world coming too..?

They are very much real. Do some research.

How do you know this is real? 10 years seems a bit extreme, I have a friend who spent 2 months because of something similar but 10 years is just bullshit...

Why do you think this is real? There is so much news that is just copiëd from other new pages which eventually leads to a gossip. Even if this is not the case here where does are their sources? Where did Samuel B. got this news from. I see absolutely no reason to trust this article.

This would never happen in the UK, no offence but most Americans don't understand sarcasm well, they also have harsh laws

Has anyone seen the kill yourself memes? Why don't you put the actual criminals in jail and stop wasting our tax money.

Lol I've heard of people getting arrested for scamming geepees. I think it's ridiculous personally but we can't really do much about it. It's even hard to believe that someone would actually go to the police and report that kinda stuff. What do they even say? I'm trying to imagine how the situation would be like lmao. "I'm here to report a guy who cussed me out on a game/took my virtual belongings". It's sad that the authorities even take that stuff seriously when I'm sure there's A LOT of more important issues that need their attention

Ikr? I work at a restaurant and someone came in got angry broke about $400 worth of stuff, Local police didn't even bother asking for the Camera footage as "they had more important things to take care of" and couldn't bother catching someone who probably will only do this once in their life. But they have the time and money to lock up someone over a game.
