Where to begin when creating a script?

As the title states that is to the relevancy of the question.

I would like to know where beginners should start and howto engage the API.

For a lot of beginners including myself we see the API as a Text Dungeon .

Which are the steps we should take to comprehend the API better and to know how and when we should grab packages and for which should we grab.

I would be willing to pay for a "private script" with source code to review ( something extremely simple).

I would prefer a open well coded source that is for the public to review.

If anyone is willing to offer free lessons or guide me please comment or pm me for further details.

I welcome any constructive replies but please keep it within topic.

Offering free SOCKS5 2 months proxy or more also for anyone who can get me seriously started.
