AMD vs Intel

Featured Replies

I prefer Intel but I'm just wondering if anyone has had experience running both FOR BOTTING. I'm talking strictly for botting.

AMD is cheaper but they have faster speeds.

Intel is costly but have close to same speeds.

I always went with Intel builds becase they were more reliable but I'm looking to  build another machine for botting and just wondering if anyones had experience with AMD. I think it will crap out after a awhile of always being ran at high percentage... You pay for what you get...

AMD ftw......

and if you cool an AMD drive properly they should last as long as an intel, but if it has to process excessive load it will need an upgraded cooling system.

I'm going with intel build anyways ahah. thanks for input.

If your making a build for solely for botting get an amd (8 core) otherwise get an intel.

AMD cheaper and faster? What's the point of getting an Intel then lol

Are they reliable? Do they last?

I just want to point out that Intel is better by far overall but for what you want AMD would suit you better. AMD is reliable (what kind of question is that?). AMD does last but they tend to operate at higher temperatures and require more electricity = shorter life span than an Intel. If you get good cooling it can last just as long as an Intel though. Personally, I've had a hot AMD cpu for a few years and it's still doing fine (82'ish degrees at 100% load 57'ish deg @ 10% cpu which is v hot for an idle'y temp).

If you were to compare AMD to Intel you'd notice the AMD is hotter, it has less power (clock speed is only one way of measuring it's power..), AMD is a lot cheaper, the power it outputs fluctuates like 3-4x more than a Intel would (of a similar tier).

Explain your reasoning. If he's going to be using it at a max load or near it how long term would that be pheasable? Lol

(I only said amd cause I assume he wouldn't use stock cooling).

Gaming = Intel

Fact is that intel is much better than amd for gaming. But for botting idk does it make any advantage with amd processors having more cores.

I'm also planning to build another pc just for botting and considering 8-core amd cpu.

I personally prefer Intel. However, if you want a budget build, then you should choose an AMD processor.

And if you don't bot with your pc, buying amd is wasting money. Intel cpu is often much better even it doesn't have same amount cores

Why can't intel and amd work together and make somthing

first off just because one processor has 3.5ghz doesn't mean another processor with 3.5ghz will run at the same speed. it depends on the amount of cores, efficiency of the architecture, and it's overclockability. to be honest right now it's not really worth going amd because of their lack in performance compared to intel. it was once a viable option to go with amd(3-4 years ago), however their bulldozer/piledriver are barely outperforming intel's first generation of i3/i5/i7(which is 4 generations ago). if you want a nice processor but don't want to spend a load of money, get yourself a haswell i3(2 cores 4 threads). these are locked processors and cannot be overclocked, but they still pack quite a punch. if you have a little more money than that(i'd say around twice as much) get an unlocked i5(unlocked processors on intel's side are specified by a 'K' at the end of it's name. for example: i5 4670K). these are called the "kings of gaming" because right now you don't need more than 4 cores, and have a decent amount of overclocking headroom. it should also be noted that intel's architecture in sandy/ivy/haswell are all more efficient(higher speed at a lower frequency) than bulldozer/piledriver(also known as zambezi/vishera). so you could have a fx-8350(4 cores 8 threads) running at 5ghz and it still won't be performing as well as an i5 4670k at stock. one last thing to note is upgradability. intel is very good in this department because in a couple years down the road you might see an old 4770k running for dirt cheap on ebay/amazon, and you might be sitting there with your old 4670k saying "wow i can upgrade this!."

overclocking is another thing to take into consideration because it's free performance. intel's don't run very hot so you could easily get a 30$ cooler and get a healthy overclock out of an unlocked chip.

I'm not an intel fanboy, in fact i love amd's 7xxx series gpus. but these days amd have just been getting their asses kicked by intel, so nothing you can really do but to suck it up and get an intel chip i'm afraid. :/ sorry if its too much to read im a bit of a nerd when it comes to these things lol. let me know if you need to know anything else because i know all about price/performance.

The answer is simple: AMD for beginners. Veteran users: Intel.

And why you would recommend worse cpu to beginners?

Intel for beginners and intel K cpu for veteran.
