As you're probably aware, the OSBot marketplace is out of bounds for those with sub-100 posts.
This leads to us seeing the spam section often swamped with new users, desperate for their post-count so they can potentially scam us quicker. My suggested solution, a rather obvious one, is to restrict users from the spam/off-topic section until they've already hit 100 post count. This entails that their first 100 posts must be legitimate and relevant to the community and will help to build a safer, more trustworthy website.

If yes, why?

If no, why not?

Gonna be hard for legit people but support

A sacrifice I am willing to make.

Noo omg it's so easy to spot someone who's done that just don't trade with them don't restrict them on the forums llol, just delays the scam cause theyll still get 100 posts

I think this would kind of work against people who scam accounts, are you also suggesting this for people who want to buy/sell gold?

This, if you see a post that seems rather fishy just go to his profile and look at his posts, it's easy to tell really.

No, already a 100 pc requirement for some market sections

if they cant spam here they wont get it and market will die out over time

more security sure. but not at the cost of less people

People can get away with their 100 posts being under 1-4 words each and reach their goal post-count easily within a few hours in the spam section.

This then gives them access to the market place and inundates us with counter-productive masses, each with under 5 feedback offering their untrustworthy services.

Quality > Quantity

Would you rather be working with 100 friends or 1000 randomers?

I agree, though if the person buying is smart enough (which he should be) he can easily tell he should not trust that person.

very interesting

Sadly nobody can ensure whether a user is smart enough to decide for himself who's trustworthy and who isn't.

The best solution one can offer is to minimise the risk of said potentially stupid user having the option to trade with said potentially untrustworthy user.

Just because you restrict them from a part of a forum doesn't mean they'll never get 100 post count, they'll just post on the rest of the forum? And if they have 100 post count and shite feedback just don't trade with them? emote32342.png

The remaining sections left available for them would force them to post primarily about Runescape, Osbot, botting and bans.

This will further educate them on what Osbot stands for and what to expect from being here.

Also, read my previous post I think it answers yours perfectly.

I think it'd be better if people developed common sense.
