  1. Yeah man anyone can, going to design school isn't exactly necessary, but very helpful as you'll be working with other design students and teachers would guide you on critical thinking and how you should see things. You'll have a sharper eye and expand on your creativity. Design school is also a very collaborative and a social environment. So I'm quite happy. These days getting far would be difficult without a degree, majority of design jobs and opportunities are asking for a degree in Graphics or a relevant subject is a requirement. I know i'm saying allot, but I wanted to give you a good reply.
  2. I don't recall landing on any website recently that was just created by the programmer alone without design knowledge tbh. I can't remember. Also can you define 'real designers'? Did you mean professional ones? because at the end designers are designers.
  3. The live sites are rsps related, but here: I designed aloras homepage: http://www.alora.io/ This rsps: https://arceuus.net/ Also this: http://imagine-ps.com/test/ Those are not going on my portfolio because they RSPS related. I need to keep my portfolio business/cooperate/professional.
  4. I design the website, then someone else codes it yes. However I know the basics of HTML5/Css3. So I aim to be good enough soon to be able to code them. The programs I use are Adobe Experience Design to create wireframes and put the site together. Adobe Illustrator to do illustrations and icons. Aftereffects to do animation. Adobe Photoshop to put it in a nice presentation.
  5. I've launched a 2nd website, my personal portfolio that will continuously be updated. I did it because it is focused on what I want to do. It will help with future employment. Check it out: http://www.aashhab.design/
  6. I appreciate the feedback and coming another UI designer your feedback is valuable While the font has been picked on by a few users that did give feedback, some liked it and some haven't. So it is quite subjective. I do agree with the animation of the navigation taking too long, it can be changed definitely. Also, the circles represent pagination. You can see it here: http://i.imgur.com/PE6Ym10.png By no means you should apologize, i appreciate your critic! Can you link a site where I can see some of your work? I'm interested to take a look
  7. Small simple animations are engaging and interesting, they pull users into the design and help develop an interest towards the content they are viewing. Also animation helps with adding instructions and direction for the content of the site, you can control the order of the information being displayed using animation. It's something that's really trending and will continue to do so. What makes it trendy is realism. However, too much of it can be a distraction and cause a bad experience for the user. So doing it in moderation is alright and has a good effect.
  8. There are tons of sites that use Jquery & Javascript to animate elements of their website. I'm sure you've seen those by now, haven't you? Animations are also used in Apps, and I have to learn animation for UI Prototyping as well.
  9. I've been reading and looking at UI animation and prototyping. So I decided to have a go and do it on my own design. While I'm still experimenting and testing things, considering loading times is something very important as well. This is just an experiment at the moment. I used Adobe Aftereffects and Adobe Experience Design for the design, exporting the assets individually and then putting them in AfterEffects.

  12. All the designs you see above, i've been paid $225-$230. Budgets can be discussed too, the more you pay, the higher the quality the work is.
  13. Thanks all! I've been paid, i do all work upon being paid first. I've done quite a few services for him before.
  14. Homepage Designs for some RSPS's:
  15. What do you mean? I've designed 1920x1080 websites so the programmer can design it for those monitors and smaller screens. I've had programmers convert my PSD's to functional websites and they are the exact same? the PSD is meant to be a guide for the programmer nothing more. What do you mean it won't look anything like in the picture lol I designed this for computers, and for phones not yet. Client didn't ask for it.
  16. For the individual images of the pages designed: http://imgur.com/a/7uOQ7
