  1. I have the same problem. Its worked fine before but I left it this morning for an hour to come back to it constantly refreshing the same spot with no xp gains.. if that doesn't get me a ban I'm bloody lucky ? Unfortunately thought I can't use it until that's sorted. Too risky.
  2. Thank you! Yeah like I said if I get banned it’s not the end of the world. I’ll survive haha. Yeah that’s what I thought about VPNs etc. So mirror mode will allow me to use osbot but make it look like I’m running the standard client? I play a lot more than I bot and when I do bot it’s only for short periods on premium scripts so I think I’m doing as much as I can? As I said, I know nothing will ever been 100% safe
  3. I been lurking around for a bit now, reading posts and making a few of my own. I started a new account last weekend and tried a few premium bot scripts with decent success. I wanted to see if I could find a few tips on how to improve my own safety (I know nothing is ever 100% safe). It seems that methods vary depending on the goal. I only have the one OSRS account (I have an RS3 account too but I haven’t played it in years). I play it, questing, grinding etc. It’s not a money making account. I do care about it but if it does get banned I’m not gonna cry about it haha. I use botting for some level grinding whilst I’m watching tv or doing jobs around the house. So I keep an eye on it. My main concern is that I play on the standard client so I’d now have to switch to osbot whenever I want to bot, and if they can detect the client I imagine that’d look a tad suspicious. Is that what the mirror mode is supposed to negate (the view on that seems to be very mixed)? I don’t use a VPN or Proxy either, should i (again, very mixed opinions)? Any other tips would be welcomed Thanks
  4. So they can tell you’re using osbot? Do they not just instantly monitor anyone that they detect using that client then? What about auto clicking Teleport for magic training? Or splashing, which is like 1 click every 20 minutes. Can they actually detect that you’re not human? Can they actually prove you’re using an AHK script?
  5. Just curious. Ive read they can detect when you’re not using the official game client. But presumably they can’t tell specifically that you’re using osbot or any of the others? Ive also read that they have automatic systems for detecting patterns and obviously people can also spot weird behaviour and report it. Im curious about things like straight forward auto clickers and specifically AutoHotKey. There are several tasks in runescape that require repetitive clicking in the same spot. If I set up a script that clicks for a random about of time between a min and max value and occationally moves the mouse click too is that actually detectable? I’d be doing the exact same thing if I was clicking the mouse myself. I know that not so long ago there was a big ban wave on PUBG because they detected AHK running and assumed everyone was botting where as most people had it set up for things totally unrelated to the game. So with that I assume that it’s possible to detect a process running but they can’t tell what the actual script is? Just curious, I’m still new to this and i don’t really understand how their bot detection works haha
  6. But I've read not to use VPNs? So do you just ensure you force the ip to change every time you play? How does that work if you want to transfer gold from one to the other? (sorry I'm new to a lot of this). Tbf I have bought a fair bit in the past so I'm not opposed to that. But the idea of doing it myself just felt kind of fun (as you put it) haha. I've bought a few scripts and they've been fun to use but i feel like I should stop now if i actually want to play this character haha.
  7. Oh god yeah all the time! But generally that kind of cheating doesn't come with the risk of loosing your save file haha. I'd like to bot my new account a bit to help my OSRS character catch up to where my RS3 character was where I left him back in RS2. But if the likelihood is that it'll get banned and I'll have to start again in the mean time then there isn't much point overall. I also like the idea of gold farming to aid my character but that sounds just as risky if I can loose both accounts if the bot one gets caught
  8. Oh so people mainly use botting for a real life income? And these people generally don't actually play the game for fun?
  9. This is probably going to seem like a really stupid question to most people but what is the purpose of botting? Whats the goal? (I'm new here) From what I've been reading, getting banned is pretty much a guarantee. So don't do it on an account you care about.. fair enough. So surely people aren't botting with the intent of actually playing those characters? So the only real reason I can think for doing is it gold farming? (until earlier I still thought there was a trade limit, turned out it was removed 7 years ago haha). But I've also read not to bot from an accounts on the same ip as accounts you care about.. and also don't use a VPN? So if all that's true then what the point? Not criticising, just genuinely curious. I actually quite enjoy watching the scripts run.. but at the same, if I don't get anything from it then there's no point for me. I still enjoy playing the game from time to time and I don't want to loose that main account. Thanks
  10. So people just bot lots of accounts and hope that one of them survives? Thanks. I didn’t think gold farming was viable because of the trade limit.. then I realised that that was removed in an update 7 years ago ?.. that shows how long it’s been since I last played haha. So do people mainly bot for gold farming then? I think I’m going to stop botting this character, hope that he’s survived a ban and maybe bot a second. What’s the safest way to do that? Are VPNs the way to go?
  11. But what’s the point if you know it’s going to get banned? That’s like building a house, knowing that it’s going to fall down again. Do people just do it because they enjoy watching the scripts run?
  12. Same question.. if people don’t bot on accounts they care about.. what’s the point?
  13. Thank you I don’t really care if I loose this one, it was lvl 3 yesterday haha. But if people don’t bot on account they care about what is the actual point of it? I was considering VIP anyway. What is mirror mode? Thanks
  14. Hello, newbie here recently decided to return to RuneScape after what.. 15+ years? Seems crazy it was that long ago. Amazingly I still have access to my old character but as with everyone else it’s obviously been forced onto the new RS3 and I just don’t recognise anything haha. Give me OSRS any day! So I’ve been forced to start again with OSRS which I don’t mind. I was always against Botting when I was younger but I’ve done my share of grinding and I figure I’m entitled to a little help to get me started again haha. Just wondering if anyone can give me any tips to get started? So far I’ve been playing with a premium mining, woodcutting and fishing script and they’ve been working pretty flawlessly. I’ve been doing a lot of questing and my own manual grinding in between however. It seems though that a lot of people still get caught. Is that mostly down to being flagged by other players or is it automatic systems? Are you more likely to get caught using something fairly interaction heavy like a combat or agility script compared to something that covers fairly automatic processes anyway like fishing and woodcutting? And if bans are so frequent then what’s the real goal? Just see how far you can get before you get banned and you have to start all over again? Just curious haha Thanks S7ewie
