which one and why!@

I'm not going to overclock always but I may lol

(I don't know how to do it but I will learn and use it :P )

I know you're probably going to say dont get the K version then but I have the money to spend i guess since i'm gonna get a gtx 1080 lol

Im no computer genius so i'll let you noobs decide :)

Ok so  far here are the arguments for and against (that i am aware of)

For i5 4690k:

i5 4690k

better overclocking performance than 6600k

cheaper

I heard it's better in some games? (unsure about this one)

Cons:

it's older  than 6600k

i5 6660k has more 'potential'

For i5 6600k

It's newer

Proposedly it's better than the 4690k

Better benchmarks

Against:

More expensive

Requires you to get an expensive new mobo too

thanks

6600k obvs

You can get a £45 mobo for a 6600k. Bgr was trolling about it being $110 more..

age doesn't mean anything

6600k has more "potential" not sure what that means lol

Depending on what you plan to spend on.

6600k means you will need a lga1151 compatible mobo, a cpu cooler and of course ddr4 ram.

More expensive compared to 4690k.

4690k is like the old gen. Pretty good too. Performance wise, not too bad compared to the 6600k.

Pretty happy with my own 4690k, great overclocker too, I  clocked mine at 4.6 GHz. Keep in mind that if you are going to overclock you don't want a cheap mobo since it will usually not go far. With the right mobo overclocking is as simple as clicking a button so you don't really need to 'learn' how to do it. You can save a few bucks if you get the 4690k, performance wise I don't think the average person notices a difference between the two.
