Polite Guru
Hi all, As a regular botter who strives to achieve human-like hours and interactions, I've just received a 2-day ban, and it got me to thinking - How advanced is the Jagex macro detection system? Would a human attempting to act like a bot successfully receive a ban, and appeal it? i.e. repetitive clicking in the same spot, pretending to be stuck on a tile, extensive waiting period, cycling between quest/skill panel etc etc What's people's thoughts on the detection system? What do YOU think they use to catch botters? I'm looking for an extensive list. On the live stream of Bot Banning, they mention a special heuristics system that they use. I'd be interested to know the thoughts of my fellow botters on just how advanced it is - since they claim it to be 100% beyond shadow of doubt. Fire away! jaycemain321
I believe they have a great system against bots and can probably wipe them out in a single night. But they won't cause they will make a lot less money, but they don't want bots swarming everywhere so they have these things called ban waves to balance it out. This is just my opinion no facts to back it up ^.^
DeadSwap
I honestly can't say I know but I do know one thing that they stepped up their game, they really have me scared/paranoid to bot.....
mazza100
Been botting for about 8 months now and I can say whatever it is they will ban you. Theres ways of making you survive longer but in the end you'll get banned. It almost just feels random. Some times you last hours, weeks or even months I'd love to see someone try and getting banned acting bot like legitly. Would give good insight to whether their dectection is based upon actions or client based Edited April 7, 2016 by mazza100
Lavosu
Would give good insight to whether their dectection is based upon actions or client based I believe the fact that people get banned constantly while in mirror mode suggests they detect bots at least partly by actions. hansen19498
Pity I spent a lot of time to build a robot teams, rushed a wave front wave of death."Jagex" forget the feeling into crazy medicine, become powerful
Nade
You gotta realize...\ They are a professional company with licensed programmers. Bot scripters are typically of less official training and do it for fun on the side of their main life aspirations.

In the scripters defence they have people like Mod Ronan and Weath haha so we still have a chance.

I've seen scripters that are more skilled than prolly half the programmers at jagex. Some people are fucking legendary haha
Polite Guru
One of the other things to consider is the actions of a human. A player does not sit at their computer for even two hours without some form of tab-checking, interaction with an external application, or even a minor AFK every couple of minutes. Most bots are programmed for efficiency and at the expense of appearing *human-like*, to use the phrase, they tend to chase the xp/hour rather than a genuine human approach. I know that if I focus on my interactions with the RS client as a human, I take an extra 5-10 minutes per hour to do what a bot could do in that time, simply because I'm browsing Youtube for a new song to play, or scrolling through Facebook. It would seem that the key to a successful script is human-like response time, human interaction (speaking in chat, randomly), checking skill tabs, experience rates, and taking the odd 5-10 second pause every 5-10 minutes. It would show up like a sore thumb if there's players attempting to kill Hill Giants and burying bones in the exact same way for five hours straight. Charlotte
I believe its bots actions + unrealistic time played that leads to ban. Therefore with a good script (priv perhaps) and a good amount of realistic breaks, I am quite sure it will last for good.

Nora
If jagex would really want to get rid of all botters, they would give ip bans. This would reduce bots greatly, especially when all free proxies and vpns gets banned.
wehedo
If you get flagged you are fuckt, unless you have been playing some legit. Bot under 8-9 hours max with breaks. If i don't get reported i don't get banned. Been banned 2 times with 2 day bans this year. This was either my playing time (up to 14 hours) or reports. Since then i've changed my botting pattern to fewer hours and more acc's.. And the acc's with 2-day ban's on are still running today. Bot smart, and bot hard!
