Paypal verification 'The ID test'

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Since i heard about Dbuffed getting banned, i'd like to inform you guys about the risk of sending a picture of your ID.

Basically what this is about;

I've done some paypal trades before and sometimes people ask me to show a picture of my ID.

I always refused to send my whole ID because of the risk of that.

The following information is from the 15 months internship which i had to do at a Bank in Holland.

Basically, whenever you send a picture of your ID to someone, they are able to open up subscriptions on your name. This can get you in HUGE trouble for the rest of your whole life.

In this case: if Dbuffed is actually such a bad person he could easily start all kinds of subscriptions with peoples ID aslong as they're 18.

Please guys, all they need is the part of the ID where your name is displayed.

In addition to that; send them the last 4 digits of your Bank account card.

The reason why i am making this post is because Dbuffed asked me for this ID verifcation too and i told him that i can send him pictures of parts of my id, drivers license + bank acc card which will verify it.

After that i had the following convo with him in which he said that he has done multiple trades etc and he's trustworthy. And i pointed out to him that the right ammount of money could change anyone in this dirty world.

Further more;

The above information is just to inform you guys with the knowledge i have. This is not ment to go into discussion with anyone or put sellers who use this kind of ID verification in a bad situation.

I'm just shocked, that a trial moderator which is married and has a child does this stuff.

EDIT;

For some reason people think this is ment towards Dbuffed.. ITS NOT

ITS MENT TOWARDS YOU !! THE READER ! Dbuffed never scammed me, i actually enjoyed doing trades with him.

This just got me think of the risks of sending your ID to anyone

Does what stuff exactly? so far dbuffed hasn't been proven to do anything wrong (scamming wise)

Up until now, there is one scam report on him, from someone who has no feedback at all even though has done "multiple trades with dbuffed in the past" and anyone who has traded with dbuffed previously, knows he requests feedback on all trades done.

Also the scam report has no evidence whatsoever with it.

Innocent until proven guilty please.

If you have the skype conversation about what your personal details been sent. He can not do anything.

In any cases, that you had to deal with issue with him about subsciptions, you still win the case by providing the conversation.

As paypal is included, and the trade about it. You have the right to prove your ID to anyone you like.

Paypal was sat on this ability so persons on worldwide, can get the trust on each other/prevent any scamm or chargeback issues.

You should safe, and do not worry.

I was shocked and that's the reason i wanted to tell everyone about the risk of sending your ID to ANYONE. This is not ment towards Dbuffed.

It's a good post dont get me wrong, and it's good advice you posted

my only point is, dbuffed hasn't done this stuff (or not proven to yet at least), so you shouldn't be shocked :P

dbuffed was just an idiot, he's not a scammer.

I have however always thought that it was stupid to post your ID online to anyone, people can use it to screw you over which is why they ask for it before they accept payments via paypal. If people start refusing to share an ID to the bigger sellers they are just going to have to stop requesting them.
