Lightning fast ban hammer

So yeah, I just started playing again, after having quit right around release of OSRS. Had been botting on and off for some time before that, with what I would classify as (mostly) low banrates, both before and after bot nuke(no accounts touched by bot nuke btw). Even still got my main which I suicide botted to 99 fishing, firemaking, runecrafting and cooking. So I checked the forums, and read that they are strict at the time, but thought that it couldn't be all that bad, so I gave it a shot. This was saturday or maybe sunday.

Found an old account I had used back in actual 2007, botted some combat, did a couple of the easy quests, and botted my way to 40+ mining so I could mine either iron or clay, which used to be pretty reliable and safe(suicide botted a clay-miner on RS2 for a santa back when they were around 10m, no problem). Played in pretty natural patterns, took breaks, checked chat to see if I missed anything, and after around 6-7 hours of mining over 2 and a half day, I recieved a ban. Macroing major, permanent, no appeal. The account wasn't too much, 450k 07, some decent stats in RS3, but nothing more than nostalgic value, really.

The scripts I had been running was the Darkminer and one of the basic combat scripts. So yeah, was I dumb? Should I have used better/paid scripts? Should I not have botted the places/skills I did? Is there anything I am missing? Was I just unlucky, or are the bot rates much higher atm?

On a side-note, I have been botting on my aspiring main a lot more extensively, but on that one I to some degree avoided the regular botting spots, have done all the F2P quests and actually played a decent amount legit.

So yeah, just thought I could share a noobs story, and maybe get some tips as of how the botting life is nowadays.

Cheers.

Sorry for your loss, only tips for botting; bot it like you would skill normally with the breaks and the amount of time spent. Maybe use the mirror mode client as I believe ban rates are lower and try and choose the best scripts, they're expensive for a reason wink.png.
