Mac Issues - Knowledge Needed

Featured Replies

To begin, I have read quite a few tutorials and help threads with no answers for this problem.

When adding scripts for Mac, I copy and paste the entire code into a blank TextEdit document and save the file as "ScriptName.groovy" into the correct folder under Users->Osbot->Scripts.

After saving it here, I realized that TextEdit does not allow you to save the file as "all types" or anything that closely relates to that.

So i went searching and found in Finder that -> right-click the script in the "Scripts" folder under "OsBots" -> Get More Info -> Hide Extension. Then in the rectangle text box, delete any other extensions besides ScriptName.groovy. Then click "Keep as .groovy" when the dialog box pops up. aaaaaaand Wallah! the script is no longer in a text form and instead saved as a .groovy file. Time to Start Botting????

Feeling accomplished, i reloaded the client and to my surprise all that was there was white space with "Reloading Scripts" in the bottom of the client every time I click "Reload."

So after a brief triumph and wasted time, I need help as to what to do from here.

Cheers,

EvoJohn

EDIT: Download "TextMate" from their website (just google it) and using that as your notepad will fix the issue. Be sure to save the file in the correct spot as well changing it to SciptName.groovy

Hi Evojohn,

Great to hear that the Mac script saving issue has been fixed!

To fix the second problem, we need to know what causes it, please follow these steps:

  1. Put all of your scripts in the scripts folder on your desktop (or somewhere else) for a moment.
  2. Download the following script: http://osbot.org/forum/topic/437-lmaplechopper/
  3. Put the downloaded script in your scripts folder.
  4. Start OSBot, and check your scripts. If you don't see any scripts, please use the reload function once.

Do you still don't see any script?

You can try the following things:

  • Check if your java is working properly with a java tester, http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp.
  • Be sure to have the latest Java, if not then update your java.
  • Are you sure you are putting the scripts in the right folder? It should be saved under *your pc usersname* -> OSBot -> scripts

Do you see the added script?

Then the problem probably is still the saving proces, even though you are seeing that the file is a .groovy file.

There could be a other problem though, it is possible that the script you'd like to add, is broken. Add some other scripts to your bot and see if any of these work.

Hello you, I dont know if you managed to fix this, but I am one too that had this issue but I think I've found a fix!

if it is still not working for you, google the mac app called TextMate and download that for free, it should be the first hit. After that download this plugin here which makes the app compatible with groovy files: http://groovy.codehaus.org/TextMate .

Open TextMate before you open up the .tmbundle so it installs properly. Once you are done with this just simply copy paste script into the textbox, go under save as, get rid of the .txt and put in scriptname.groovy and save it straight under your scripts folder and voila!

Thank you for the replies.

Unfortunately none of them have worked.

1) My java is up to date.

2) I moved my scripts folder to my desktop, still didn't work. I then downloaded the maple script, no luck. I moved the script folder back to the correct place and still no luck.

3) I tried adding other scripts but nothing works.

I did try your recommendation mastablasta but when i searched for TextMate, it did not appear to be an application in the app store.

Thank you for the suggestions

Does anyone have a fix yet?

Ok i found and downloaded TextMate. Now on the groovy site, I can't find which link I am supposed to download for the bundle.

The TextMate fixed it for me, didn't need that last part.

Thank you mastablasta, you the man!

Since the solution has been found, I'll close the thread.

Have a great time botting evojohn!
