Im thinking about buying a gaming mouse and need a hand picking between two.

 

One of them has 2400 DPI whilst the other has 4000 DPI, do you personally think it is worth paying more for higher DPI or do you think 2400 DPI is fine? Do serious gamers need DPI higher than 4000?

Get a one wiht a good sensor, most pros use 400 DPI or 800 DPI. The sensor is more important. I got Logitech G400s

2.4K+ DPI = FPS

I had Razer DA 6400 dpi but i used only 1800-2400

4000+ DPI may be useful if u have a huge 4k tv screen

if you're a serious gamer then you're going to be using a huge mouse mat and 400 dpi, lol

 

so yeah, 2400 is fine

DPI, dots per inch, meaning you can move more smoothly and play better, AKA that's why it's a gaming mouse.

 

2-3K DPI is fine, just purchase the mouse that you prefer.

Because gaming mouses > cheap mouses.

They last way longer and are better for gaming.

 

DPI is something you get on a mouse, = Dots per inch, means more and clean movement when you're moving your mouse, google it.

DPI is a selling feature for "Gamers", above a certain point it's useless and you pick up more noise than clean movement.

I personally have a 8.2k DPI Logitech G600, but I only run it at 3k DPI with Windows mouse "Pointer" speed lowered to a point I find the speed comfortable.

The reason I do that is so that the sensor is still accurate, but the speed is more controlled.

I wouldn't be too concerned for DPI, I never care for it, I merely bought my mouse for the programmable keys.
