Do I Need To Tick All Of The Randoms For Them To Work?

The ones which you individually select are ones which you wish to solve. If you wish to "dismiss" all randoms, click the "Dismiss all" checkbox. If you wish to do nothing, don't select anything. Remember that random events are now optional so there is no penalty for dismissing or doing nothing.
