avatar doesnt really have many episodes ;p but if you want priority you'd better watch something very good like FullMetal Alchemist or something

I know it isn't anime but it essentially is the same but english dubbed. Unless you can't read subtitles you would have to like anime aswell.

The anime is behind by a lot, so it would be a while. If the anime ends, doesn't mean the manga won't go on. That is what happened to bleacher, the anime ended and the last season of bleach was never aired.
