Computer is quiet

Hi,

I have this Acer laptop windows 8 it fairly new but its pretty quiet. The computer speakers aren't fucked because its quiet with headphones and even in the car plugged into the aux cord.

An  IRL mate had a similar one but it was windows 7 and he downloaded something onto it that makes it louder.

Hoping one of you would know any fixes to this. I know fuck all about computers.

Thanks in advance and kind regards Hayden.

Most computers don't use fans at very low rpm or not all when temperatures are very low (around room temp).

If you use heavier programs, more heat will be generated and fans will be turned on at higher speed thus making more noise.

Your friend prolly has a bitcoin miner on his computer or similar malware on his computer.

I would suggest running a malwarebytes and check if his CPU got high load when idle, (Go to task manager and click on performance.)

I need more sleep

On topic:

Go to Control Panel - Sound - Right click default device (with green icon) and select Properties - Levels and turn up the slider

If that doesn't work out go to advanced and unselect the two boxes.

Show the list of processes from taskbar, might be that one of the processess is messing up.

Also update all of your drivers.

NVM, I didn't understand correctly.

Just update your drivers, but honestly, boosting audio that isn't supported by your PC/Laptop is gonna cause sound shredding.
