on my device it is slower.

 

what device if I may ask?

I like opera before they took out built in proxy support. I would get an old version of opera if what you say about chrome/firefox is true. Chrome is #1 though. Even if it was a few % slower, it'd be worth using, just because of all of the built in features that if offers.

Nope, still using safari. its fine now.
