alphaDesign
Have you made the background yourself? Because if not, render + background + set some blending styles + erase the edges = done, right?
Designer
I don´t like to sound rude, but you use way too much premade stuff on your work. You should use less textures, premade abstract textures/renders/fractals. There are multiple ways to create effects and background your self. The piece it self does not look bad, but I´d wish to see something new and some progress.

This one's alot of fractals and C4d's but I took the time to clip them and put effects on them. It's not like i'm just pasting them in randomly. > You should use less textures, premade abstract textures/renders/fractals. Entirely opinion. I like how it looks. A lot of other people like how it looks. Believe it or not, it actually takes a lot of work to make it blend together and look good. I really don't care what you think because you'll never be my customer, and It's not like I even charge for anything I make. I've actually progressed quite a bit with some new tricks in my bag, they're just very subtle things though. Below is all smudging vv

Yes there´s improvement, I know you have took time to make it all clip together, but my point was that you´re overusing them. The smudge Jack Sparrow is a good example. You made a background with smudging. The smudging is aight, but with few basic smudging tricks it would look a lot better. That´s why I tried to say you should practice that area too. Secondly what happened with Sparrow sig is you bombared so much fractals and c4d renders, it rushes over the background. Also the render blending is a thing you should improve. I´m not saying these things in bad intention. I´m trying to help and point few things you can practice and so fort improve as an artist. I´m sorry if you got me wrong in first place. Yes there´s improvement, vv I´d wish to see some progress. wat It's kind of weird that you mention it on a piece where I did it well and didn't over use them though. I was aware of that when I made the jack sparrow one, I just CBF'd fixing it. I was reading a tutorial on that one. Learned everything I needed from it. Threw in my usual effects to see how they'd combine, and called it good because I learned a couple of things making it. That's generally what's going on when I make stuff. This one is an exception. The jack sparrow one is an example. and yes, I'm aware I need help making the render blend with the signature. I've been working on it. This one I think actually blends pretty well into it. alphaDesign
By the way, you stated in the thread title you made 'art'. I can't be offensive to anyone as I do GFX as well, but we are not artists. What we do is not art. It's graphical design. Art is something far more than just this.

You're retarded. graphic design noun the art or profession of visual communication that combines images, words, and ideas to conveyinformation to an audience, especially to produce a specific effect. Art is in the damn definition. Edited May 4, 2014 by zaros784

Graphical designing is far more than just making website designs or signatures from premade package shit.
