Hello all graphics artists!

 

@Deffiliate and I are hosting a contest on who can create the best paint for our newest script, Mother of Ores - a Motherlode Miner

 

Here's what we need in the script:

*An area to list ores mines - Coal, Gold, Mithril, Adamantite, Runite

The name of the script - Mother of Ores

Profit and Profit/hr

Experience and Experience/hr

Level and Levels gained

Runtime

An X (or some other minimize button type of thing) in one of the corners.

 

*Only the ores you receive will be listed, for instance, someone with 50 mining will only receive Coal, Gold, and Mithril - so Adamantite and Runite will not be shown in the paint. However, someone with 70 mining will receive Coal, Mithril, and Adamantite, so all of those will be shown, but not Runite.

 

Area available to use:
Primarily focus on the chat and inventory boxes.

You do not have to completely limit yourself to these, as there will be a minimize button. But try not to obstruct the view of the actual player.

 

 

Prizes!

There will be prizes for the winner.

As of now the prize listing is:

1. A free auth (could be given away to that lucky lady ) to our Mother of Ores script.

2. A cash prize - $20

3. You will be our first choice for any subsequent scripts.

4. *in discussion* Trying to get Dex to allow a point towards Designer rank for the winner.

 

 

A general theme of mining is encouraged, but not required.

Info on motherlode mine

So basically, the whole place is a new mine. It's similar to the Living Rock Caverns from Runescaoe EOC

 

Basically, there's 2 components:

 1) Mining - finding and mining veins in the caves.

 

 

 2) Processing - This includes taking the "Pay-dirt" mined from veins, depositing it in the hopper, fixing the machine (water wheels) if it breaks, and the retrieving your processed ore (and golden nuggets) from a sack.

The main rewards for this place are: 1- Mining xp, 2- Ores, 3 - A new suit of armor which boosts mining xp.

 

So for me there are 3 over-all themes that I can think of: Mining, a goldrush, mine carts, etc. This actually reminds me quite a lot of gold mining (in real life, where you get pay dirt than have to process it)

Could you add some mine carts full of gold and some gold / more to it? I love it so far, also, the ore display needs to be discussed a bit further but I really like what you have so far!

Not sure quite yet. I'm about to head off for the night but when Nezz gets on we'll decide a dead-line. I'd like to have a paint within a week.

Hey man, maybe you have a friend you'd like to donate the auth to? ^.^ Also, the Mad Scientist are goign ot be needing alot more Gfx created so we're looking for a steady artist that's easy to talk to. Anyways, I know what you're capable of and id love to see what you can do :3

aww yeah I was thinking old schoool + mine carts and all that. This is still VERY basic tho.

 

I think you could still pull off the retro mining cart look while having something more high quality.

The ores aren't in the right order, and nothing in lined up properly, press Ctrl + R to get rulers in photoshop, then drag lines from the rulers on to your picture to line things up

 

I'll go for it, for sure.

If you can, take seom screenies from the minigame it self or what ever thing that mother of ores is and send me via PM? And if you can, can you also inquire all the details and wishes you want. If you have a clear vision I´d like to follow that and not waste my time making something you don´t need nor want.
