Need Help! Video Help (Converting)

Hi,

I'm editing some videos for school and I need help with converting.  They are movies in WMV and I want them in AVI, so I can use Sony Vegas to edit them and stoof.  I have tried for an hour to convert but nothing works...  I really would like some advice on the issue if anyone could lend a hand!

Teacher told me not to record it off youtube or something or anything like that... And thanks I've tried using converters but the file is a movie lol so...  It's having trouble converting or something...

You posted after I found a solution.  Also on the day it was due... 

I know it's a hard life getting that post count up, though.
