Other forms of life

Featured Replies

Other forms of life, yes.

Probably some forms are more evolved then ours, and some are less developed (bacterias etc.)

But about their appearance I have no idea, but certainly not as they are shown in movies haha!

The Universe is over 13 billion years old, it would be ignorant to think that there weren't anything other than us humans. Obviously some will be so far more advanced than us, they're probably able to spy on us through powerful telescopes, then there would be some which are primitive.

Religious Fags - If there was/is a God, he wouldn't make a whole universe for one planet to have inhabitants.

Everything is absolutely possible, except time traveling into the past, of course.

If you watch programs such as through the wormhole with morgan freeman, or through the universe with stephen hawking, you can learn a lot about this type of science.

Most scientist, until recently, believed we needed to find a planet with water in order to find a planet that could possibly sustain life. We recently discovered this was an awful way of thinking.

Another planet could harbor life, but not life in the way you're probably thinking. If we ever do discover life on another planet, without it discovering us first, it is likely that it'll be in the form of bacteria or microorganisms.

As far as extra terrestrials go, there chance is low but it's there. The only real sign the human civilization has ever had was back in 1979 when we received a radio frequency while scanning the stars. This frequency was from over 200 light-years away, and it's exactly the type we'd expect from an extra terrestrial being. We searched the stars of that area for years, but no other frequencies were ever recorded.

We, as a planet, take a lot of precaution when it comes to trying to contact an outside world. If you've ever watched any alien movies, you know the dangers this poses. The scientist of the world are strictly against us trying to communicate with alien life-forms, because if we were ever to make contact, it would be a large danger to our planet.

On another note, if we were ever taken over for our resources by another civilization of alien life-forms, it would more than likely be by a nomad civilization. Theoretically, these are alien civilizations that eventually outgrew their home planet, and now travel the universe in ships, exploring every planet they pass for fuel, energy, and resources to build more ships to hold more of their kind.

tl;dr? You missed some great insight on the topic at hand.

There may be other life forms in the universe only God would know... But if there are other life forms then I think they look exactly like us except they may be more advanced or less.

To quote J.B.S Haldane, "The universe is not only stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we can imagine." Think about it. The universe is literally EVERYTHING. If you can imagine it, it is.

I mean if you think about how big the universe is, it's kinda ridiculous to think that we're the only ones. I don't know what's more scary to be honest, being completely alone or knowing that there's others out there. It's crazy to think about.. Who knows what stuff is out there and what its like. I'd like to think that all the laws of physics and science that apply to us don't apply to aliens out there. I mean in some dimension or universe far away from ours, there can be stuff we can't even begin to imagine. I like to believe that c:

Edit: I kinda don't want us discovering them, if they are out there at least. just imagine if they do come here, we'd take them, do experiments on them and torture them :(

There are other extraterrestrial forms of intelligent life out there. No doubt in my mind.

I do believe they haven't discovered us yet, though.

When and if they do, I assume we will be put under watch and humans eventually exterminated.

If humans were to discover this other life though, I assume we would study it, attempt to modernize them, treat them as humans, and of course, extract information from them.

But, it's impossible to know exactly what the other species would be capible of until we're aware of their existance.
